Early Spring
March – April
Ylläs is flooded with light in early spring, as the sunbeams reflect off the sparkling white snowdrifts.
This is a gorgeous time on the slopes, ski trails and nature trails: smiling outdoor lovers enjoy their time with a hot cup from the backpack or wilderness café, and even the forest animals head down to the villages to take in the hustle and bustle of spring.
Restaurants
Ylläs offers a diverse range of restaurants during both the winter and summer seasons. The unique landscapes of the area make dining an exceptional experience – you can enjoy a meal on the top of Ylläs fell, in the tranquility of the forest, or by the calm lake. Menu options include traditional home cooked food as well as beautifully presented five-course meals in high quality fine dining restaurants.
Map and trails
The diverse outdoor trails of Ylläs in its pure and beautiful fell landscape are suitable for the active athlete, day hiker, and those with special needs. The only challenge you might face is the difficulty of choice – there are plenty of routes to go around!

Ylläs Ski Resort is Finland’s biggest and it is located between two Lapland villages.
Early spring might just be the best season of all — when the sun finally warms your face and the white snow crust turns solid underfoot. It’s that magical moment called `hankikanto`, when the frozen surface carries your weight and invites you to explore far beyond the marked trails.
