At the beginning or middle of September, when the temperature falls below 0 degrees for the first time, a true explosion of colour with incredible autumn colours spreads across Lapland. Ruska, the autumn colouring of the plants, creates a wonderful play of colour and light. Indian summer in Lapland – the best time for hikes and expeditions through the endless forests of Europe’s last wilderness. This small-group tour in the Ylläs region takes you to the most beautiful places where the colours are particularly striking. We will drive to 2-3 different places by car in 3-4 hours, where you will get the best of Lapland’s nature in front of your lens. At one of our stops, we take a break and enjoy typical snacks and drinks from the campfire. I can tell you about my life in Lapland and a lot about the nature and wildlife. If we’re lucky, we’ll come across reindeer on the way, as they are in mating season in September and are therefore travelling in large groups.
