In June and July, when the sun never sets, you can experience an overwhelming play of colours in Lapland as the sun slowly sinks over the horizon. During the white nights, when it never gets dark, the midnight sun bathes the entire surroundings in warm golden and orange tones. During this small group tour in the Ylläs region, we hike to my favourite spot. The hike is easy and takes about 1 hour each way. From my favourite spot, we have a beautiful view of the surrounding hills, forests and swamps. It is one of the best places to observe and photograph this natural phenomenon. The vivid light of sunset and sunrise can be photographed here in a magnificent setting. The tour is planned around midnight so that we can capture the best moments of the midnight sun in an authentic Lappish landscape. I can teach you the basics of photographing at dusk and show you how to capture all the amazing colours with your camera. During the tour we will also make a campfire and eat some barbecue snacks while spending the nightless night surrounded by nature. Please note: The exact time of the midnight sun in Ylläs is from 04 June – 07 July. However, I also do the tour a month after the actual midnight sun, as the beautiful sunsets can be photographed until August.
