SnowVillage and Ice Exhibition
Welcome to Lapland Hotels SnowVillage – a magical world built of snow and ice in Lainio, Kittilä! This snow castle, rebuilt annually, offers an unforgettable experience for families, couples and adventurous travelers alike.
Snow Castle Theme and Exhibitions
The snow and ice works are rebuilt from scratch every year, and the theme for the 2025–2026 winter season is Pure celebration as it is 25th year the SnowVillage is built.
Over 20 million kilograms of snow and about 300,000 kilograms of crystal-clear natural ice are used in the construction work every year, as well as countless hours of work.
Food, drink and accommodation
The SnowVillage’s three restaurants offer delicious meals to complement your visit. Lunch and café are also available.
In addition, the ice show features a Luxury Snow Suite, which can be booked for two people. The luxurious ice suite offers private access to the snow castle, a guided tour, a sauna, an indoor jacuzzi and a hot breakfast in the restaurant.
Activities and arrival
SnowVillage offers a variety of activities, including ice sculpture exhibitions, an ice bar, a ceremony room, a cinema and an ice slide, which is a favorite of children and adults.
You can also book a guided tour of the ice exhibition.
The Snow Castle is located in address Lainiotie 566, Kittilä and can be reached by car, taxi, snowmobile or, starting from a skiing holiday, by skiing from Ylläs – from Ylläsjärvi about 15km on mostly flat.
A new bus connection from Levi and Ylläs tourist centers operates three times a day during SnowVillage’s opening hours from 25.12.2025 to 6.4.2026.
