Introduction to Fly fishing: Beginner’s fly fishing trip on Äkäsjoki River
Welcome to a beginner-friendly fly fishing trip where you can try out this truly addictive activity.
During Outdoor Week, Ylläs Experiences offers you the chance to experience fly fishing together with professionals of the sport. Depending on the day, your guides will be Susanne, Jussi or Saku from Ylläs Experiences, as well as Jani Ollikainen, selected as Fishing Guide of the Year 2021. These highly experienced guides will introduce you to fly fishing equipment, how to use it, and the basics of fly fishing techniques. During the trip, you will receive tips on reading the river, wading safely, fly fishing techniques, and choosing the right fly.

During Outdoor Week, you also have the opportunity to further develop your fly fishing skills together with professionals. Your guide will be Ylläs Experiences’ own Jussi Pusa or Jani Ollikainen, Fishing Guide of the Year 2021.
This trip is designed for fly fishers who already have the basic techniques under control but want to improve their skills and fine-tune the details of their technique. The day also focuses on understanding fish behavior and locating fish in the river. This is a great opportunity to receive personal feedback from experienced guides on how to take your fly fishing to the next level.

Full-day fly fishing trip at the grayling and whitefish waters of Könkämäeno river
A fishing adventure for large whitefish and grayling on the Könkämäeno River.
Könkämäeno is a border river between Sweden and Finland, flowing between the municipalities of Enontekiö and Kiruna in the Käsivarsi (Arm of Finland) region. This stunning river offers excellent fishing spots hidden along its bends. On this trip, the target species are grayling and whitefish, although sea trout and Atlantic salmon also migrate into the river annually. Depending on your preference, fishing can be done using either spinning or fly fishing equipment. There is also the possibility to use float tubes as part of the fishing experience. During the day, we will enjoy lunch and brew coffee by the river. The guided fishing day is always tailored to the clients’ wishes.
