På toppen av Ylläsfjellet åpner det seg et vidstrakt villmarkslandskap i alle himmelretninger. Det fins totalt 62 alpinbakker, og de lengste av dem måler opp til tre kilometer. Det er også bakkeprofiler til alle og enhver, alt fra brattere nedfarter til lette øvingsbakker.
Utstyrsutleiere på begge sider av fjellet betjener med høykvalitetsutstyr for alle typer sport. Utleiere fins det også i bygdene Äkäslompolo og Ylläsjärvi. Er du blitt rusten å stå på ski eller ønsker du bare å få litt hjelp med nytt utstyr, kan du gjerne ta kontakt med vår skiskole.
Der gondolbanen bekvemt frakter opp til fjelltoppen, tar den nye polstrede og oppvarmede stolheisen skiløperen halvveis opp i fjellet. Oppstigning til de lette øvingsbakker skjer med skiband.
Ylläs er skiløperenes og syklistenes himmel
Det mest omfangsrike løypenettet i Finland tar en rett inn i nasjonalparkens ro. De mangsidige skiløypene tilbyr så vel lette partier over myrer og skoger som utfordrende klatreetapper til fjelltopper. Langs skiløypene finner man vinterens favoritter, herlige og stemningsfulle villmarkskaféer.
En spesiell vinterperle i Ylläs er det 10 mil lange sykkelrutenettet for vintersykling. Trå med fatbike eller elsykkel i fjellenes favn eller til bålplasser og villmarkskaféer. I området er det flere sykkelutleiere som tilbyr fatbikes og elsykler samt guidede turer langs de beste rutene.
Ylläs er på topp også på sommeren!
Under barmarkssesongen fins det en helhetlig Bike Park og mange aktiviteter for hele familien. Nasjonalparkens turnett på flere titalls mil inviterer så vel til turgåing, vandring som terrengsykling. På sommeren kan du for eksempel sykle fra Ylläs til naboskisenteret Levi. De rolige og klare fjellvannene er godt egnet for padling – sup-bretter og kajakker får du lånt nært vannkanten.

Det sørligste store fjellet i Finland, Ylläs, ligger i Kolari kommune, 115 km nord for polarsirkelen i Vest-Lappland.
