In winter, in windless weather, it is often 10–15°C – and even 30°C – warmer higher up in the fells than in the villages below, thanks to inversion. So head to Lämpökolmonen, the visitor centre or Ylläs Ski Resort Ylläsjärvi to escape the cold!

Observations are updated mainly every 15 minutes.
Temperature accuracy is ±0,5°C but please note that the microclimates vary a lot.
Snow depth is measured in Fell Yllästunturi’s northern side, about 400 meters above sea level, in an open forest, accuracy about ±1cm.
Sensor is in direct sunlight and because of that shows higher readings time to time

Currently open trails

Summer trails are open from June to early/mid October. Summer use is allowed until the the classic xc skiing tracks are made, except on lit trails.

Winter Trails are maintained from October–November to May 1st if conditions permits. Read more
