Winter trail grooming principles
Winter trails are groomed on natural snow so first class trails will be opened in early winter as soon as there is enough snow. Maintenance continues until 1st of May if snow and ice coverage is thick enough. See today’s grooming on digital map map.yllas.fi and amount of open trails in Weather-page
In early winter (Oct-Nov) you are allowed to walk and bike on trails until classic ski tracks are made – except on lit trails, which are only for skiing.
How often and when trails are groomed?
Trail maintenance is optimised so that in every morning there is as much as possible trails in good condition per the weather. For example if night is snowy the trail maintenance starts a bit later on popular near-by trails.
