Ylläs is flooded with light in early spring, as the sunbeams reflect off the sparkling white snowdrifts.
This is a gorgeous time on the slopes, ski trails and nature trails: smiling outdoor lovers enjoy their time with a hot cup from the backpack or wilderness café, and even the forest animals head down to the villages to take in the hustle and bustle of spring.

Ylläs offers a diverse range of restaurants during both the winter and summer seasons. The unique landscapes of the area make dining an exceptional experience – you can enjoy a meal on the top of Ylläs fell, in the tranquility of the forest, or by the calm lake. Menu options include traditional home cooked food as well as beautifully presented five-course meals in high quality fine dining restaurants.

Due to the growing popularity of trail running and the upcoming NUTS Ylläs-Pallas race event, we have decided to allow trail running on ski tracks for the remainder of the winter season. To minimize wear on the tracks, running on ski tracks is only premitted with wool socks.

Did you know that almost all rest spots in Ylläs have firewood available for hikers? Our favourite snack by the fire is hot dogs. 🌭You don’t need any utensils to make them and by varying the toppings they can be enjoyed by everyone regadless of age. Our hod dogs were topped with veggie chorizo, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup and a bit of greens. And enjoyed with coffee, ofc! ☕️ What is your favourite snack for a hike?
